What Our Clients Say
Catherine and Dennis
Hi Brian and family, Valentine’s Day … marked one year since “Eddie” joined our family and I just had to write and tell you how amazing he is. Eddie was puppy “E” in your December 24, 2012 litter. I brought Eddie home on Valentine’s Day 2013. He was a surprise gift for my husband. We had a wonderful Brittany (Rudy) for 14 years and lost him in March 2012, so Eddie had big shoes to fill … and fill them he did!! Eddie is part of the family and lives in the house with us. He was a dream to potty-train … it took about a month and he’s never had an accident since. He gets along great with everyone he meets … and he’s a good buddy to our cat! We took Eddie on our fishing vacation to northern MN in early June. He did great on the 5-hour car ride, in the cabin and at the resort. Eddie is an awesome pheasant hunter. My husband was thrilled with his hunting abilities … he stays close, works hard and got 14 pheasants this fall … AMAZING!! Eddie is truly a joy, he has exceeded all of our expectations … he’s absolutely beautiful and just the best … we couldn’t be happier! Thank you so much!!
Kali
I thought I would give you an update on one of your pups that we bought at the end of 2010. Kali is doing great. She is only about 30 pounds and loves birds...all kinds is a matter of fact. I have been training her for bird hunting and have mostly been doing that myself. I did send her to the puppy class for bird dogs to a trainer since I dont have access to many birds and she did well. Fast forward to this hunting season. She and I have been out a few times and havent come across much until yesterday. She pointed for me a few times only for me to go in and find nothing there. So basically I dont trust her nose yet. I knew the birds were in there as they were running on us; we could hear them in the treeline. She pointed for me a couple times in one spot that was thick with buckthorns. I went in and flushed a rooster and dropped it. Now we have to work on the retrieving. She wouldn't pick it up. I think it was too big for her mouth. She will just have to figure out how to get them in her mouth. Here is her first bird!! VERY NICE DOG And oh yeah, everything they say about brittanys is ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!! I hope all is well.
Stella
Hi Brian, Great. By the way, Stella took an 18-hour car trip to Ohio over Xmas. We harnessed her in the back seat with 2 of us. She slept the entire way. Our vet friend in Ohio said he never saw a Brittany with such an animated personality. We are so delighted with Stella that we want another one for our adult daughter. She has been planning for just the right companion for a while. Stella convinced her that a Mazeppa Brittany was the way to go. We would like to reserve one of your spring litters. When do you expect the litter? She is not in a rush as she would prefer to work with a new puppy when the weather breaks. Brian, Here's a picture we took of Stella the other day. She has good running form! We had her in an open field and she came when called. She starts dog training classes next week. We have had guests the past three weeks. Needless to say, Stella has been a HUGE hit. We couldn't have asked for a better, sweeter pup.
Duke
Attached are some pictures taken on the Birthday's. The kids wanted Duke to have some dog friends over but we compromised with just letting Max spend the night. Duke is a nice size now and exactly what we have always wanted in a dog. Definitely the best family dog we have had. Hope all is well with his parents and your family.
Isabelle
Thanks for your message. The new website looks great!!!
I've included a few recent pictures of Isabelle. She is doing fantastic - very loving and smart. She recently went to obedience class and did very well. (Everything except jumping up to meet new people seems to be going well). She is such a part of her family. She especially loves all the squirrels and birds in the yard (including one day with 20 wild turkeys).
I hope the new litter is doing well.
Kiko
Kiko is a great dog. She is the best Brittany we have ever had. She is very smart and loves all of her 3 big sisters. Kiko just recently found her squeaky ball after the snow melted. We could tell she was very happy. Kiko loves to run - not away from us - in a good way. She was just into the vet and is in great health. She is very trim and muscular. We see her brother the tri-colored every now and then. He is a much larger dog. We are happy with our small pup. (I still call her pup). She gives us hugs - my oldest daughter taught her that. Kiko got her first bird on January 03rd, 2009! She was very excited. She was hunting with Scott and her big sister, Rachel. Brian, Here is a recent photo. She has been a wonderful dog with great instincts and a lot of natural talent.
Maddie
Maddie is doing good. I need to get some more recent pics, but here are a couple I have...
OPIE & HERCULES
In 2017, we began our search for a new family dog. My husband and I researched and determined we wanted a hunting dog and a family dog, especially with a 1-year old. We came across Mazeppa Brittany's and contacted Brian to get on the next list. We picked out Opie in the fall/winter of 2017 (Oct 2017 litter) and brought him home the week of Christmas. He immediately fit our family and quickly proved to be incredibly intelligent with a fantastic nose. He joined us for many pheasant hunts and enjoys backwater duck hunting in the fall, including water retrieves. We had a son in 2016 and after a few years, we knew we wanted to add another dog to our family. We immediately knew we wanted another Mazeppa. Hercules joined our family in early 2021 (Nov 2020 litter). While they have different personalities, they both fit our lifestyle perfectly. Opie has trained for multiple half marathons with my husband when he was younger. Hercules allows our kids to dress him up and was a shark for Halloween the last two years. Both dogs have outstanding noses when in the field, an intense drive for birds, and strong discipline to hold their points for what seems like hours. We have received many compliments on their ability and how fun it is to hunt with pointing breeds. When they are not in the field, they love snoozing on the couch, riding in the truck, and following us everywhere we go. Mazeppa Brittanys are the perfect dog for active families and families with young children. Brian and Sheila are wonderful to work with. We could not be happier with our decision to go with Mazeppa Brittanys. Hercules was trained at Duncan Creek Kennel LLC in Bloomer, WI. Opie was trained at a facility in Portage, WI that no longer takes outside dogs. Our favorite place to run our dogs is Woods and Meadows in Warrens, WI.
